QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Smoothie King celebrated their one year anniversary in Queen Creek on Thursday, January 9th. In attendance included the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, local business owners, owners Donna and Wayne Carlson, staff and family. They are located at 20008 S Ellsworth Rd #104 on the Northwest corner of Ellsworth Rd and Queen Creek Rd in front of Ashley Furniture.
Smoothie King offers nutritional fresh-blended smoothies, smoothie bowls, and healthy retail products, including sports beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, and other sport nutrition products. “Our smoothies are smoothies with a purpose; we want to provide a quick, delicious food that provides you with your nutritional needs; whether it’s high protein or low carb, we have a smoothie for everybody!” said owner Donna Carlson. They offer a range of blends geared toward getting fit, managing weight, being well, feeling energized, treating yourself, and blends just for the kids.
“The great thing is they taste good, and it’s something you can order and pick up quickly and feel good about what you are feeding your family. That’s the reason why it had to be Smoothie King for us because we want to be apart of your health and fitness journey as you live a healthy and active lifestyle.” said Carlson. Smoothie King’s mission is to inspire a healthy and active lifestyle through its Clean Blends initiative, which focuses on great tasting smoothies with more whole fruits and vegetables while removing artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives and added sugar in many of its blends.
“We have been wanting to open a Smoothie King for over 20 years. We were just regular people who love Smoothie King, and it seemed impossible as we have six children, but my husband really wanted to provide a place for our family to work and also a really clean environment for teenagers to work in.” said Donna Carlson. “We were in Texas at the time, but the Texas market is flooded with Smoothie Kings, so we were praying about where we could go, make this change with our family, and start a new business. We were led to Queen Creek, Arizona, and we don’t know why. We don’t have any family here and didn’t know anything about the desert, but we came out here and the community has been awesome!” said Carlson.
“We were scared to death one year ago when we opened because we didn’t know how this was going to turn out. This is our first franchise as business owners, and the Queen Creek community has been amazing. From the schools, surrounding businesses, the Town and Town Council, and the Chamber of Commerce have been so supportive that we have met our goals for our first year, and we’ve set even higher goals this year all thanks to the community!” said Donna Carlson
