The Queen Creek Junior Lifeguard Program is designed to introduce participants ages 13-15 to the fundamentals of water safety, rescue awareness, teamwork, and leadership in a fun and supportive environment. Through skill-building activities, drills and hands-on learning, participants gain an understanding of what it means to be a lifeguard. This program is educational and preparatory in nature and does not provide an official lifeguard certification.

Pre-Requisites
To be able to participate in the Junior Lifeguard Program, all participants must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle or breaststroke without a rescue tube, 25 yards with a rescue tube across the chest, tread water for 30 seconds and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from 6 feet of water.
Volunteer Hours
After participating in this program, Junior Lifeguards will have the opportunity to volunteer during Family Swim programming and earn volunteer hours for school. All volunteer activity will be tracked through the Town’s official volunteer program.
