Join Ranger Nikki on a 4.5-mile easy to moderate hike at sunrise to enjoy the sights and sounds of the morning desert. We will watch for birds, mammals and reptiles as the sun rises and the day warms up. We might also see nocturnal creatures finishing their business and settling down for their rest time. The route follows San Tan, Hedgehog and Moonlight Trails, which vary from smooth and level to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot with up to 100-feet of elevation changes. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, snacks and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. Meeting Location: Main Entrance Trailhead picnic table Map of Meeting Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tciT6NFi5sTbDrot7 No registration required. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.
