Banner Ironwood Medical Center would like to invite parents with kids from 2 years old to 12 yrs old – and bring their teddy bears or their favorite stuffed animals. The hospital environment can be scary and overwhelming to Pediatric patients due to many unknowns, equipment or misconceptions of the medical experience. Therefore, a Teddy Bear Clinic is a fun way to ease fears, educate and address misconceptions for children before they potentially ever become a patient at a hospital. Children learn through play, therefore this is the perfect opportunity to educate, while providing ‘care’ for the child’s stuffed animal. Your child will experience the hospital as the caregiver and not the patient and be shown common procedures in the hospital.
